June 2012 - K.2 Seahorse & Coral Island

Here are my two highlights from the month of June...

K-2 at Baan Kajonkiet… I don’t really remember too much happening in June but it do remember that it was a long month because we worked from May into June and then into July without a day off or any special activities for about eight weeks.  So I guess I should mention my class for the new school year…The new school year started in May and I moved to K-2, which is the second year of their three years of kindergarten.  I had quite a rowdy class but an amazing Thai teacher, Khun Kru Em!  It was great teaching students who for the most part, wanted to learn and though they drove me crazy, I felt like I accomplished a lot.  There were days where I screamed and days where I laughed and days where I was literally in tears, but all in all I loved my time in K-2. To say I was devastated to leave my kiddies in October is an understatement.  I've included an array of pictures from the first semester below and uploaded my all-time favorite video of the shenanigans that occur after school starring my favorite, Pin as well as Ing Ing, Gim Suan, Bonus and Buck...

Wiped out!  Walking around the airport yeling "AirAsia! AirAsia!" is hard work for kindergarteners

Coral Island – Played hooky for a day the last week of June and drove down to the southern tip of Phuket and caught a longtail boat to a gem of an island called Coral Island.  Nancy was planning on leaving Phuket forever and we were in a panic trying to finish her bucket list and Coral Island was on it (luckily, she ended up having a change of heart last minute and stayed on with me until November).   It was low season so the island was empty, the water was crystal clear blue-green and the sand was pure white.  We completely relaxed for the day and remembered how amazing our lives were.
